How long are the piano lessons?
I offer lessons which are 30, 45 or 60 minutes in duration. The length of the lessons you take is up to you, however if you are unsure what would be suitable there are some suggestions below.

Suggested lesson duration:
For younger students (9 years old or younger), a 30 minute lesson is recommended.
For older students (children over 10 and adults), a 45-60 minute lesson is recommended.

How much do the lessons cost?
The lesson cost varies and depends on lesson duration and whether I am travelling or not. You can come to me in Llanbadarn Fawr for no extra charge or I can come to you at the following prices:
Prices (from 1 August 2022)*
*Bookings must now be paid for in advance, in blocks with respect to school terms/ half-terms. Due to the school terms being of variable length, this will vary but usually averages out at about 7 weekly sessions per half-term. Please see the cancellation policy for more information. I reserve the right to terminate lessons without notice for any reason and any accrued credit will be refunded if I terminate lessons. Students who choose to terminate lessons will forfeit any remaining credit.
**Home visit costs are an estimate, now calculated by distance from Aberystwyth. Within Ceredigion (Tregaron, Aberystwyth and Lampeter areas) - Please contact me for more information if you think you may be out of my area. For locations which are extremely remote or very difficult to access, (e.g. many small roads, poor driveway with many potholes etc.) there may be a surcharge added.
Books and examination fees are not included in the lesson cost however I will source the required books and apply to the exam board on your behalf.
Examinations
If you would like to take exams, we will probably follow the ABRSM syllabus for practical and/or theory. There are opportunities to sit piano exams three times a year and the closest examination centres are in Aberystwyth and Newtown. I can apply on your behalf when necessary.
